About Me

I first moved to Camas in 1989, drawn by the sense of community and hometown feel that was evident everywhere I looked. I was also attracted to the easy access to running trails, parks, and the Columbia River. Aside from a brief two-year period living on acreage in rural Clark County, I have enjoyed calling Camas my home over the past 34 years. Together with my former wife of twenty years, we raised two wonderful daughters in Camas and took advantage of all the offerings that make Camas a great place to live. In 2014, after living on Prune Hill for several years, I purchased a home near Crown Park and plan to live here into my retirement years. In 2022, I was appointed to the Camas City Council to represent the residents of Ward 1.

I have deeply appreciated the efforts and commitment of our public school system, with both of my daughters attending middle school in Camas. One of my daughters graduated from Camas High School and went on to graduate from Columbia University in New York. The other attended St. Mary’s High School in Portland and later graduated from the University of Portland. Both have grown to be thoughtful and caring adults, actively involved in their communities. I am very proud of all they have accomplished.

With my daughters grown and out of the house, I spend most of my free time with all the dogs in my life. Rain or shine, we make time for our morning dog walk with coffee in hand. I love history, maps, and exploring the back roads and trails of the Western United States on my motorcycles.
